All participants are encouraged to wear helmets and other protective gear, and to observe all traffic rules.
The West Bank features some great bike lanes and wide streets that keep riders safe. You may be sharing the road with vehicular and pedestrian traffic, and studies show that the best protection for cyclists is more bicycle traffic–cars and pedestrians become used to seeing and interacting with bicycle traffic and learn how to share the road. Biking with a group of others, including experienced urban cyclists, also increases your visibility and comfort. Nervous about urban biking? Think of the West Bank Ride as your easy way to get comfortable!
