However you’re planning to get to the West Bank Ride, we’ve got you covered.
Of course the best way to get to the West Bank Ride is on your bike! For a comprehensive list of bike paths and trails covering the Metro area, check out this resource list from Bike Walk Twin Cities.
Bus and Lightrail
Both buses and lightrail trains are equipped to bring along your bike. There are two light rail stops that are close to the West Bank, the Cedar Riverside Station passes directly through the neighborhood. The Franklin Ave Station is a short walk north down Cedar Ave to the neighborhood. For more information on light rail go to the Metro Transit Light Rail Website. The University of Minnesota Bus Routes : Route 2 serves the West Bank Area. For more information on this route and connecting routes check out the Metro Transit Online Schedule.
There are plenty of options for parking on the West Bank. You can find a full listing of parking lots at the thewestbank.org/parking. There is also limited parking at Augsburg College’s Lot L specifically for this event. Please note that this is the same day of Midwest Mountaineering’s Spring Expo, so parking will be especially tight and Lot B (behind Midwest Mountaineering) will be closed for this event. We strongly suggest parking in the University of Minnesota’s 21st Avenue Ramp, which is closest to the starting point at Murphy Park. Street parking is available, please be mindful of all parking regulations.
